NAWA Media is a collaborative platform that aims to empower and support early-career journalists in using open-source data in conducting climate and environmental investigative journalism. NAWA Media relies on our PledgeMeter and ClimaFact trackers to, respectively, follow governmental progress in achieving promised climate goals in a bid to increase transparency in access to information, as well as combat misleading information related to climate change in the North Africa and West Asia (NAWA) region. NAWA Media offers a practical space through the Media Lab and learning resources in Arabic that localize latest developments in journalism.
The NAWA Media Lab is a space where early-career journalists can develop and produce journalistic investigations and reports in the NAWA region. In addition, the Lab has a dedicated open-source investigative unit to respond to crises related to climate change and armed conflict.
